Name:
Dr Lisa Horman
Qualifications:
MB BCh (Cardiff 1989) MRCGP
Brief Biography:
Dr Lisa Horman was born and grew up in Jersey, moving to Cardiff to do her medical training. After graduating from the University of Wales College Of Medicine, she moved to Carmarthen in West Wales to work, completing her GP training here four years later. Her first practice was in Barnstaple, North Devon, where she worked for ten years before moving to Blackbrook.
The reason for this move was to become more involved in medical education, which she does by supervising some of our GP trainees in the surgery, and teaching groups of Somerset trainees throughout their three years of GP training. In the surgery, her roles include monitoring the quality of medical care through the Quality and Outcome Framework. She is particularly interested in the management of long-term conditions, such as diabetes and mental health problems.
